20 de diciembre de 2018 – Citibanamex informó que con el apoyo de Citi Inclusive Finance, celebró un acuerdo de financiamiento por dos años y 15 millones de dólares con la sociedad financiera popular (sofipo) Consejo de Asistencia al Microemprendedor (CAME). Ello, detalló Citi, le permitirá a CAME aumentar su cartera de microfinanzas y ampliar el acceso a propietarios de pequeñas empresas a más créditos seguros y accesibles. CAME es una de las principales instituciones de microfinanzas y un jugador clave en la inclusión financiera en México. La organización brinda acceso a productos de crédito, ahorros y seguros a más de 386 mil clientes que trabajan por cuenta propia, con un libro de préstamos de 2.3 mil millones de pesos, que se expande en promedio un 20% anual. “Estamos encantados de apoyar a CAME en la expansión de sus actividades de microfinanzas, ahora como parte del Grupo Te Creemos Holding. Sociedad Financiera Popular, has announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Financiera FINCA, S.A.P.I. de C.V., SOFOM, ENR (“FINCA Mexico”). PC Capital and its manager PC Capital Management worked alongside the founding shareholders of Te Creemos as well as Creation Investments, S.C. to lead a follow-on investment in Te Creemos Holding S.A.P.I. to finance the acquisition of FINCA Mexico, a microfinance institution with over 67 branches in 20 different states of Mexico and a loan portfolio of more than $680 million pesos. The acquisition will allow Te Creemos to grow over 50% in terms of revenues and loan portfolio and position itself as the second largest microfinance institution focused on working capital loans in the country, with over 240,000 clients nationwide.
